Farmington High School
The Farmington School District serves 4,050 students Pre K through 12th grade. The district is composed of 318 square miles and serves a population of 28,000. Farmington School District has an outstanding history of innovation and excellence in student performance and extracurricular activities while maintaining a very low tax rate (39th lowest rate out of 42 districts in Jefferson, St. Francois and St. Louis counties). District expenditure per student is $2,175 dollars less than the state average.

Innovative Career & Technical Programs

- College Now Dual Credit Program is apartnership with Mineral Area College where students are awarded scholarship based on ACT scores, attendance and grade point averages. Students have access to over 30 dual credit classes in each career pathway.
- 75 percent of graduates earn college credit upon graduation with over 6,000 total college hours earned during 2014-2015 school year.

Mineral Area College provides exceptional technical training resources for the region. The Advanced Manufacturing Lab provides to means to offer area employers with state of the art technical skills training in electrical, electronic, fluid power, mechanical, process control, renewable energy, thermal, robotics and automation, and manufacturing process training. In addition, the college can provide your company with customized training solutions. MAC offers a full scope of workforce training programs and is the administrator for the Missouri Works Training Program which provides funding assistance for qualified employers for training needs. The college can facilitate MOSTEMWINs grants for tuition free NAM’s Certifications in: Production Technician, Logistics Technician, Pneumatics Technician, Industrial Hydraulic Mechanic and Mobile Hydraulic Mechanic. Additionally, MAC can support your workforce with workforce development including Work Keys Job Profiling/Employee Assessments, New Hire Orientation, Leadership, Management, and Team Building, Strategic Planning, Interviewing Skills, Retention, Succession and Talent Management Training.
The Mineral Area Training Consortium, facilitated by MAC, is a consortium of 18 area industries. The consortium provides a forum and network for discussion current training issues. The State of Missouri pays between 50% and 100% of the cost for training classes. Participating companies select the training to be conducted.
Since 1989, Central Methodist University has partnered with Mineral Area College to offer fully accredited degree completion programs at the MAC campus in Park Hills. CMU’s College of Graduate and Extended Studies emphasizes convenience, quality evening and online classes, and affordable tuition. Financial aid is available for degree-seeking students who qualify. Staff are anxious to help students enroll in our transfer-friendly programs. Classes are kept small with individual attention from professors. CMU offers many different majors, including several available entirely online. Non-degree students can choose classes for professional enrichment or personal growth.
The Farmington Regional Learning Center offers students the convenience of achieving an undergraduate or graduate degree at a location most convenient to them. Courses are offered Monday through Thursday evening and provides a computer lab for use by students during the office hours. Upper division courses offered are part of the 2+2 partnership program, meaning you can transfer general course work credit to MBU. Classes at this location are taught by experienced faculty members from our main campus and other select educators from St. Francois, Washington, Jefferson and Madison Counties.
UNITEC Career Center offers programs for high school students, post-secondary course work and continuing education for the community. Technical training programs available through UNITEC range from culinary to machine tool technology.
